Oxygen absorbers
Oxygen absorbers are small packets that look like tea bags. They are used to prolong the shelf life of dehydrated and freeze dried foods. They are made from iron oxide and their main function is to remove the remaining oxygen inside of cans or mylar pouches so the food inside the container will remain fresh longer. There are 100 oxygen absorbers per package. When you open the package of oxygen absorbers, you must get all the unused packets into a glass jar with a tight fitting lid or they will start to activate and will be ruined within 10 minutes of opening the package. Keep them in the jar until they are needed. Take out only what you need to use and seal the jar again with a tight lid.

Lid Lifter
A lid lifter is used for taking off the white plastic lids that come with the 5 gallon buckets. They are handy to have when lids are sealed tight and you need a tool to get them off.
